Old, grimey coins are a staple in cleaning adverts. You know the kinds we're talking about. Someone dips the dirty coin into a container of cleaning liquid, and they emerge as bright and as shiny as new. It looks like magic on TV, but it makes you wonder: Can you get your old coins back to that dazzling gleam at home? The answer is yes, and you don’t need fancy cleaning liquids for it. Instead, Coca-Cola will do it for you.

Just rinse the coin under clean water and then submerge it in Coca-cola for five minutes. Repeat this by rinsing with water again and returning the coins to the soda for another fifteen minutes. If there’s still dirt on your coins after that, gently brush it off with an old toothbrush.
