Ships in the Desert

Desert discoveries come in all shapes and forms, but most people wouldn't expect to see a boat in the middle of the desert. However, that's exactly what one desert explorer saw when they made their way across The Aral Sea in Kazakhstan. And while today it's one of the driest places on earth, there was a time when this place was completely covered in water and ships just like these.

That was until the water in the lake was diverted for irrigation. Now, what was once a huge lake has become a desert filled with ghost ships that look totally out of context.
