It's always sad to see a city devastated by a natural disaster. These things aren't their fault, and something that just couldn't be predicted - and that's exactly what happened to the city of Paterson in New Jersey. Before 2011, this city was a thriving metropolis. But when Hurrican Irene hit the city and caused the Great Falls River to burst its banks, the city struggled to survive the fallout.

In their attempts to flee the floods, residents abandoned over 1,250 homes, which have since fallen into disarray. In fact, many people haven't returned - which has severely affected the economy.
