Youngstown, Ohio

There was once a time when Youngstown was a thriving community, thanks to the impressive steel production that occurred in this city. But when the biggest steel factory in the local area decided to close its doors in the late 1970s, the city started to go in decline. Countless people lost their jobs, houses were left empty, and people struggled to make ends meet. Unfortunately, it's struggled to get back on its feet since then.

As if that wasn't enough, the city was criticized in 2017 for having the worst air pollution in the whole state. Because of this, more and more people are choosing to leave.
