Gautier, Mississippi

You might associate the name Gautier with a very famous high-end luxury fashion brand; the people of Gautier in Jackson County, Mississippi, are worlds away from Parisian perfection. Home to around 20,000 residents, the city of Gautier had the chance to be a thriving community of Southern charm and friendly neighbors. However, census data suggests that this is actually one of the most dangerous places in the whole state of Mississippi.

One quick look at the Google images of Gautier will show you that this city needs some love - but it's not the residents' fault. The city took a beating during Hurricane Katrina, and it's struggled to survive ever since.
