La Isla de las Muñecas, known as the Island of the Dolls, boasts the world's largest collection of haunted dolls. However, the true haunting figure in this tale was its solitary inhabitant, Don Julian Santana Barrera. Legend has it that in 1950, a child tragically drowned near the island, and Don Julián Santana attempted to rescue her but couldn't save her life. Isolated on the island, Barrera hung a doll from a tree, hoping to appease the spirit of the deceased girl.
Apparently, one doll wasn't enough, and he kept hanging more and more dolls in hopes of pleasing the girl's spirit.
