But when vacationers speak to the locals, they're encouraged to stay away from Boa Viagem Beach - and that's totally understandable. Although sharks roam the waters across the world, they're especially active around this beach, and shark attacks are pretty common here.

Over the past decade, over 20 people have died as a result of a shark attack at this beach. And it's been reported that they're attracted to the low-frequency sounds that container ships emit.
