That's because the Playa Zipolite beach is infamous, even with the locals who call it the "Beach of the Dead." And you probably don't need us to tell you why it has acquired this nickname, especially when we tell you that the currents here are deadly.

The currents are so strong and unpredictable that it's reported that around 50 people die here every single year. But locals still love lounging on the beach here, as it's Mexico's only legal nudist beach.
