Security Is Overrated

A guest staying at this hotel reported that his girlfriend, not realizing the lock was in place, gently pulled the door open, and this happened. Understandably, they were both left feeling pretty unsafe for the remainder of their stay. The question is, what is that lock made out of? Die-cast metal? Cleanliness, comfort, and security are some of the fundamental features any hotel should strive to offer, but this place clearly failed at the first attempt.

This is also a great advertisement for latch locks that don't rely on a couple of screws and a flimsy piece of metal. Hopefully, this couple managed to get some sleep.
