Pencho Semov, aka Bulgarian Rockefeller, was the first billionaire in the country. Born in a poor family, Semov climbed the social ladder with trading and banking. Before he died, he said that he wanted to have his mansion converted into a retirement home and two other buildings into girls' boarding schools.
