Many people dream of living near the water. And before 2015, the people of Shreveport in Louisana relished the fact that they had the Red River flowing right on their doorstep. However, that all changed when the river burst its banks almost a decade ago and completely flooded the whole city. Homes were lost, businesses crumbled, and the whole place fell into disarray as they tried to pick up the remaining pieces left behind.

Unfortunately, as more people struggled with unemployment and homelessness, the crime rate shot up. It's now considered to be one of the most dangerous places to live in the U.S.
